The Distance Learning Council of India is a non-profit accreditation association established to promote and support high standards of educational quality in the evolving fields of online and distance education.
Global practice, local needs
The Council follows an evaluation framework for higher education institutions that takes into account established global practices and the evolving requirements of distance learning.
Evaluating what matters
Its primary objective is to evaluate the curriculum, academic standards, institutional policies and educational practices of online and distance-learning institutions.
Membership earned
Membership is offered to institutions that demonstrate adherence to the prescribed standards and continue to implement them in their educational practices.
How we work
Evaluation and annual renewal
As part of its evaluation, the Council first reviews the documents, institutional information and process standards submitted by an institution, together with the membership information it provides.
Every year, members renew
Member institutions update and submit their membership information annually, along with the applicable annual membership fee, in accordance with the Council’s requirements. This keeps every accreditation current.
