Ensure Equal Opportunity
Provide equal treatment and opportunities to all students without discrimination based on race, colour, caste, gender, ethnicity, nationality, age, religion, disability, marital status, or any other protected characteristic.

Encourage Professional Cooperation
Cooperate with other Distance Learning Council members whenever such collaboration can contribute positively to a student’s academic interests and educational development.

Maintain Defined Educational Standards
Establish, clearly communicate, and consistently follow appropriate academic and educational standards.

Uphold Academic Integrity
Degrees, grades, certificates, or other academic qualifications must be awarded only on the basis of genuine academic achievement and established evaluation criteria, and not in exchange for financial or other improper consideration.

Comply with Applicable Requirements
Follow applicable standards and requirements established by relevant government and regulatory authorities. Where specific requirements do not apply or cannot be followed, institutions should provide students with clear and accurate information regarding the applicable framework.

Report Ethical Violations
Members are expected to report any significant violation of this Code of Ethics by another member to the Distance Learning Council for appropriate consideration.
Consequences of non-compliance
Failure to comply with these ethical standards may constitute grounds for review, suspension or termination of membership with the Distance Learning Council, subject to the Council’s applicable procedures.
